Baku, 29 May: Arbitrary arrests of Chechen refugees by the police on
the streets of Baku, in the metro and other types of city transport
will stop. Agreement has been reached on this in a meeting between the
chairman of the Committee of Chechen Refugees in Azerbaijan, Firudin
Abbasov, and top officials of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry. 

Speaking to Turan about this, Abbasov said that refugees from
Chechnya, whose rights had been violated by the law-enforcement
agencies, may contact the Committee of Chechen Refugees by telephone
[number omitted].
